Tile roof repair done wrong.
Tile roof repair done wrong.

“Mend” broken roof tiles? I keep hearing this term used as opposed to normal the industry language - repair. Either way, this is not a recommended fix by tile manufacturers. The reason is that sealant expands and contracts at a different rate than concrete, it’s the same reason that driveway or sidewalk repairs are not done with caulking because adhesives and sealants are not considered structural components. It may work for a little while, but for corner chips or breaks bigger than 2” it is always best to replace the tile. Remember, aside from another roof leak the less time your tile roof repair lasts the more foot traffic there will be on your roof!
